House Hunters

It's official. I am on the prowl for a cute little 3 bedroom house to live in with my pals Jane and Jess next year. I realize that I've started this hunt a little late into the season, but now I know I really want to do it. And now it's probably too late. But that's okay. I finally, after several long months of talking myself in and out of moving out again, realized that living with friends is where I need to be. Except this time, I need to do it right and live with other people who love Jesus and people who are going to be home with me to eat dinner and watch movies and not study. Every morning and every night I ask Jesus to help me and my friends find a house IF that's He wants us to do. This whole house idea may not even be an option, so first I'm asking Him, and I hope he says yes and supplies my friends and I house to live in this year. Now that I know this is something I want to do I check craigslist and trulia multiple times a day searching for the perfect house. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. 3 bedrooms isn't quite as common as 4, and I want it to be in a good area. And I don't want to pay as much as I did in the apartment last year. It's fun looking at houses, but I'm still waiting to find that perfect one!

Windy Gap, Here I Come!!

Holy smokes, y'all! I am leaving for Windy Gap in 6 days with three high school girls from Powell! I have so many emotions going on. I'm stoked, I'm pumped, I'm excited, I'm nervous, I'm anxious, I'm scared, I'm overwhelmed. But mostly just super pumped and excited. It really is going to be the best week of these girls lives. And the second best week of my life. Since the first best week was the week I went to week long YL camp at Frontier Ranch. duh. Tonight we had a leader meeting to get us ready for camp and Mary Kendall started us off by reading from Mark 8.

22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

This week I, along with many other leaders from Hardin Valley, South Doyle, Karns, and Stem, will be leading blind kids to the village. We are taking these kids to place they've never been before and are going to be doing things with them they never thought they'd get the chance to do. I cannot wait to experience a week of camp with Hannah, Brittney, and Makayla. So I just ask that you pray for us. Pray for me and that my sleep gets doubled at night, that I can lead these girls that way Jesus wants me to. Pray for Hannah, Brittney, and Makayla and that Jesus stirs in their hearts and makes them feel things they've never felt before. Pray they leave camp wanting a relationship with Jesus. Pray we leave camp and can pick up where we left off with a campaigners and we can spend even more time together and with the Lord. Pray they feel comfortable around each other and me enough to share what they feel. Pray that each leave with their own unique story to tell at the end of camp. Please, keep me and these girls in your prayers throughout the week. I will gladly receive them :)

Okay this video is just really cool to watch. It talks to about 8 different people about what YL did for them.

This one is just plain hysterical. It's a about things yl leaders say. So dang funny. I've watched it at least 20 times.

Enjoy, folks.

Back In Session

Well, the dreaded school days are officially back. Fortunately for me I have 8 ams every single day.....okay so that's not so fortunate. But the good thing about having 8 ams every day is that I don't have to fight for parking and I'm done early. I'm finally getting to take my first nursing class this semester, which is exciting. And then next year I'll get to start doing all the fun/ridiculously hard stuff.  The beginning of the semester is  just so awkward. New class, new teachers, new syllabus, new rules, new people, no friends. I'm not really into change, so starting all over every semester kind of wears me out. I get stressed about everything. I just want it to be like week 4 already so I can get in the groove of things. Oh yeah! I forgot something else that's going to be different about this semester....I'M LIVING AT HOME!!!! And super pumped about it if you can't tell. I've never lived at home since being in college, so this will definitely be a new thing for me. I'll be commuting to school every day, but I'm totally fine with that. It's so worth it. I get to be with my fam all week long, eat home cooked meals, take naps in my own bed, play with my dog...oh the list can go on and on. I LOVE home. Almost a little too much. I'm afraid that I'll love it so much that I'll never want to move out again. When I was little....well even in middle and high school....I used to say that my husband and I would just live on the 3rd floor of my house now so that I never have to move out. Haha! But for real....I would so do it. I'm a mommas girl and I absolutely love being at home. I could sit at home all day every day and be totally content with that. Here are some kind of old pictures from last semester and break......

Oh just looking at some bacteria in lab...I loved that class.

This would be me and my smokin' hot Powell YL team #powelllovin
